PAML made a decision to remove signage from draw stations and replace them with video monitors. I created the video below as a substitute for the signage that was removed. In addition to offering instructions to our clients, the video monitors were also an excellent marketing and educational opportunity. The original video was created without the crawler at the bottom of the screen. Some felt that the important client instructions should be constantly repeated on the screen, so regardless of what portion of the video was playing as the client entered, the instructions would be quickly evident. I found the crawler to be somewhat distracting, but it was a necessary compromise in order to address everyone's concerns. These videos played in continuous loops on screens in all of our draw stations. The decision was made to have no soundtrack, given that the phlebotomists would have to endure the same soundtrack day-in and day-out. It was decided that a silent video would result in a more peaceful and relaxing work environment.
